National Institute of Design is nationally and internationally acclaimed as one of the finest education and research institutions for Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated (Experiential) Design.

The Institute offers Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) in its Heritage Campus, Ahmedabad and Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (PGDPD) in its three campuses.

Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD):
90 Seats (Including OBC & Other reserved Categories)

Candidates who have passed or who will appear in 2008 for qualifying examinations under Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalents like AISSCE/IB/ICSE, etc are eligible for NEED. Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years (relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories) as on June 01, 2009

4-year GDPD Programme (includes a Foundation year) is offered in the following disciplines:
  • Product Design
  • Furniture & Interior Design
  • Ceramic & Glass Design
  • Graphic Design
  • Animation Film Design
  • Film & Video Communication
  • Exhibition Design
  • Textile Design
Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Design:
220 Seats (including OBC & other reserved categories)

Candidates having a Bachelors degree or equivalent (including those who will be appearing for the qualifying examinations during the academic year 2008-09) are eligible for the separate test for PGDPD. Upper age limit for candidates is 27 years (relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories) as on June 01, 2009. Those applying for more than one Programme should send in separate application forms. One cannot apply for more than two PG Prgogrammes.

R & D Campus, Bengaluru:
Information & Interface Design, Design for Retail Experience, Design for Digital Experience

Important Dates:
Issuing of forms starts from : October 6, 2008
Last date for receiving completed forms by NID: November 28, 2008
Test for PGDPD (at all Centres): January 3, 2009
Test for GDPD (at all Centres): January 4, 2009
