The Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Humanities was established to oversee the development of courses attuned to the requirements of the industry and its associated institutions. The requirements of a professional today span different branches of knowledge and therefore the courses offered are all interdisciplinary in nature. This website caters to Admissions to the three courses:

  • Bachelor of Financial Investment and Analysis (BFIA)
  • B.A. (Honours) Business Economics (BBE)
Eligibility: The candidate should have passed or have appeared in March/April 2010 in Senior Secondary School Examination of CBSE or any other examination considered equivalent by the University of Delhi.The candidate should secure an aggregate of at least 60% marks in his/her XII class examination (55% for SC, ST, CW and PC categories) in best of four papers including English and Mathematics. The other two papers are to be selected from the following list: Accountancy, Biology, Biotechnology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics,Entrepreneurship, Geography, History, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology.

Admission Notice 2010 For BHMS

Applications are invited on three A4 size paper (two pages for the application proforma and one page for the identification card) according to format given below from intending candidates of Indian Nationality for Admission to 5½ yrs. Degree Course (BHMS) in Homeopathy (including one year Compulsory Rotatory Internship) at the National Institute of Homeopathy, Kolkata, affiliated to The West Bengal University of Health Sciences for the academic year 2010-2011.

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe) are eligible to apply. The candidates should attain 17 years of age by 31st December 2010. For the candidates who have appeared for Higher Secondary (10+2), candidature will be taken into consideration provided that the result of that examination is published before the admission and they have secured the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof. Blind (including colour blind), deaf, and/or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.

Filled in application (in candidate’s own handwriting) is to be sent along with Bank draft for Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) in favour of Director, National Institute of Homeopathy, payable at Kolkata (IPO/Cheque/Cash/Money order will not be accepted). No Bank draft is required in case of SC/ST candidates but a copy of caste certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer should accompany the application. Also enclose 04 (four) identical copies of recent (taken after 31st March, 2010 with a placard showing candidate’s name and date of photo / the photographs should be taken without spectacles and cap/hat) passport size (3.5 cm X 4.5 cm) colour photographs. [02 (two) copies are to be pasted on the specified area on the application, which should be attested by a Gazetted Officer after pasting with part of signature on the photograph and part of signature on the application form, other 02 (two) unpasted should be signed on the reverse by candidate]. Applications accompanied by hazy, old or unidentifiable photographs are liable to be rejected without assigning any reason. Candidates must put their full signature in all the places asked for at all the stages of admission process. Candidates need not send the Xerox copies of testimonials with application (except attested copy of caste certificate in case of SC/ST candidates claiming exemption from paying application fee) and OBC/Orthopaedically Handicapped claiming for reservation in admission, but the original cast certificate must be submitted for verification if provisionally selected.


The duly filled in application should reach to the office of the Director, National Institute of Homeopathy, Block-GE, Sector-III, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700 106 on or before the last date of submission of application i.e. 30th April,2010

MCA: a) A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2 + 3 / 4 years pattern) in any discipline with core Mathematics (or) Business Mathematics at +2 level or A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree with 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern with Mathematics at Diploma level or Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level or A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2 + 3 pattern) in any discipline with Mathematics or Statistics as any one of the subjects.
3. M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.: Details of the common eligibility criteria are available in the “Information & Instructions Booklet” for TANCET 2010 to be issued during Spot Registration and also in the website: www.annauniv.edu/tancet2010.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the 3-year full time Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme offered by the NITs located at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal. Admissions to the MCA programme will be made through NIT MCA Common Entrance Test 2010 (NIMCET10) organized jointly by eleven NITs and being conducted by NIT Kurukshetra . Admission will be based on the rank obtained in the NIMCET10 only. The test will be held for duration of two hours and will consist of objective type questions on Mathematics, Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General English. You have to sign the hard copy (Printout) at the bottom of each page and attach all the documents / declaration as listed in the check list given in the Information Brochure and then send the form by post.
