TWO YEAR POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN BM AND IN PM AND IR
Eligibility: Graduates who have completed three years of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by a University or Deemed University are eligible to apply. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2009 may also apply.


ONE YEAR GENERAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME
Eligibility: Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized University in any India/abroad in any discipline. He/She should be employed in a full-time job and must have at least five years of relevant management experience as on March 31, 2009 after completion of graduation.


FOUR YEAR FELLOW PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT
Eligibility: Candidates should have a Master's degree or its equivalent in any discipline or CA/ ICWA/ CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) or a BE/ B.Tech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates). Those completion their final examination by June 10, 2009 may also apply.

GUJARAT STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST FOR LECTURESHIP, DECEMBER 2008

The Six Gujarat SET Examination will be held on Sunday, 7th December, 2008 in 20 subjects.

Candidaets who qualify in this examination are eligible to apply for the post of Lecturer in Gujarat State only.

The conditions of eligibility and exemption are exactly same as that of UGC-NET Examination.

About M.Tech in Energy Studies:

M.Tech. course is introduced for the Engineering Graduates ( B.E.) / Post graduate students in Science (M.Sc.). The main objective of this course is to train these students, through multi-disciplinary approach in the field of energy audit, management and conservation as well as the Non-conventional energy sources and environmental engineering. Such trained manpower would be useful to optimize and conserve the energy resources, utilize waste energy, reduce environmental pollution produced due to inefficient energy usage and introduce new renewable energy sources in the society. The course is being conducted in close association with one of the industry leader Thermax Ltd. Pune and other leading industry experts and consultants in the energy field.


Eligibility:

Valid GATE score card (If the student is qualified in GATE)

The sponsored candidates must submit the Letter of Sponsorship and No Objection Certificate from the Head / Authorized person of his parent organization at the time of interviews. It should be mentioned clearly in the letter that the fees for the course will be born by the sponsoring organization and the required full time leave will be sanctioned to the candidate.

The applicants should enclose the attested copies of the certificates and mark sheets of examinations (S.S.C. onwards) passed by them along with the application form. Candidates belonging to reservation categories will be required to submit a certificate from an authorized officer not below the rank of Magistrate / Tahasildar to the effect that the candidate belongs to the respective reserved category. In case the certificates / mark sheets are in a language other than English, Hindi or Marathi the English version of such documents duly attested should be enclosed. All candidates selected for admission must produce the necessary original certificates and documents for verification at the time of admission. Students who have passed their qualifying examinations from Universities outside India are required to follow the rules and procedures laid down by the International Students Centre of the University of Pune.

The School offers various B.Ed courses under Self Financing Stream in the following nine B.Ed colleges.

Duration of the Course : 1 year

Eligibility
Candidates should have passed BA / B.Sc degree exams under the 10+2+3 pattern with one main subject and two subsidiary subjects from M G University or any other university recognized by M G University as equivalent thereto for admission, subject to the stipulation regarding marks.

However the eligibility of candidates who have passed degree examination in double/triple main, Model II vocational and other specialized subjects/streams will be governed by rules and regulations of this university.

In the case of candidates who have passed examinations of other Universities, they will be admitted only if these examinations have been declared equivalent to the qualifying examinations of this University.

The minimum requirement for admission to B.Ed course is 45% marks in Bachelor’s degree (Science/Arts subjects) in aggregate (ie, for Part I+II+III) provided he/she secures 45% marks
for Part III subjects.

Candidates seeking admission on the basis of the language under Part I & II need 50% marks for the part concerned and 50% for Post Graduate course in the same

language. Candidates applying for the course under the language stream with a bachelor’s degree in the subject concerned will be ranked first in that particular stream.

Candidates applying for the course under any language stream based on Part I / Part II at under graduate level and having PG Degree in the same subject as in Part I /Part II will be ranked only after that. Graduates in any subject for which optionals are not offered B.Ed course are eligible for admission to the subsidiary subjects taken at degree course if that subject is offered as an optional for B.Ed course, subject to the rules of admission. But such candidates will be considered only after the ranking of candidates with the concerned main subject.

For B.Ed in Commerce the eligibility is 45% marks for M.Com degree.

Home Science candidates seeking admission to B.Ed Degree course (are eligible for Natural Science option) should hold Post Graduate Degree in Home Science with not less than 50% mark. Also they should have studied Botany and Zoology (each, at least as a paper) at the degree level. Home Science candidates should be ranked only after ranking the B.Sc Zoology (main) Botany (main) candidates. Graduates in Petrochemicals (main) / Polymer Chemistry (main) / Bio-Chemistry (main) of M.G. University are eligible to apply for admission to B.Ed Degree course in Physical Science provided they have studied physics as a paper/optional subject at the Degree level. Graduates in Bio-Chemistry (main) are to be ranked only after ranking graduates in Chemistry (main).

Graduates in Statistics are eligible for admission to the B.Ed course with Mathematics as optional, subject to the rules of admission.

The following categories of candidates are eligible for admission to B.Ed (Information Technology).
• B.C.A / B.Sc (Computer Science/Computer Applications/Information Technology) and
• M.C.A / M.Sc (Computer Science/Information Technology/I.T.C.C/B.Tech (Computer Science/I.T)
• M.Sc OR & CE / UGC sponsored Computer application graduates.


Concession:
SC/ST need only a pass. SEBC candidates will get a concession of 3% in aggregate marks .OEC candidates will be given 5% concession in aggregate marks.

Candidates who are moderately Physically Handicapped and those who are blind are also eligible to apply. Selection will be based on merit and shall be guided by the rules of the University.

Weightage of Marks
i. Candidates with teaching experience in approved schools/colleges in Kerala are eligible for a weightage of 0.1 marks for every month of approved service subject to a maximum of 5 marks, ignoring fraction thereof. Such candidates shall produce relevant certificate counter signed by DD/DEO/AEO respectively.
ii. Candidates who have a Post Graduate Degree in a concerned subject are eligible for weightage of marks as follows: M.A / M.Sc - I class: 5% marks, M.A / M.Sc - II class: 3% marks, M.A / M.Sc - III class: 2% marks. Weightage of 1% marks shall be given to the candidates who have represented the University / State / Nation in Sports and Games. Rounding of marks of 0.5 and above to the highest figure shall not be done while calculating the percentage of marks for minimum eligibility.
iii. Certain percentage of marks shall be given to the local candidates as locality weightage on production of proper locality certificate from the competent authority. The percentage of marks and the revenue area shall be decided by the University, and it vests all the rights in implementing and withdrawing the conditions regarding the local weight age.
iv. A weightage of 2% marks will be given for purpose of ranking candidates who belong to the revenue district in which the college is situated. In case, there is no college in the particular Revenue District under the jurisdiction of the University, the candidates will be eligible for such concessions in the University College of Teacher Education of the adjoining district. The candidates are not eligible for concession under this category.
v. Five (5) marks will be given to the NCC/NSS certificate holders on production of relevant certificates issued from the College / University authorities during the B.A/B.Sc Degree course.
vi. Dependents of Ex-Servicemen / Service personnel / BSF (son/daughter/wife/husband) are eligible to get concessions as per Government rules.
vii. 5% Seats will be allocated to regular teachers of Government / Aided Schools / Higher Secondary Schools as per the eligibility prescribed by Govt.of Kerala and NCTE.
viii. 5 seats in each centre are reserved for NRI.
ix. Certain percentage of seats are reserved for candidates of Model II Degree Courses as per rules.

Reservation
Reservation of seats and relaxation of marks will be granted based on the rules of the University. The existing percentage of reservation is : ET (Ezhava/Thiyya)-9%, M (Muslim)-8%,LC (Latin Catholic other than Anglo Indian)-2%, OBX (Other Backward Christians) (including SIUC and converts to Christianity from SC)-1%, OBH (Other Backward Hindus)-5%, SC-8%,ST-2%. Those who seek admission to the seats that fall under the reserved category shall produce the relevant certificate from the competent authority. In order to prove concession based on caste and financial status, the certificate should be from a revenue officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar or Village Officer.

Regulations and Syllabus

1. Preamble:
This course intends to train manpower with adequate skill to work in immunotechnology-based R&D units and pharmaceuticals industries. In accordance with this objective, the courses of the study will be conducted in collaboration with Mediclone Biotech. Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, which is one of the leading manufacturers of immuno-diagnostic products.

Mediclone Biotech Pvt. Ltd. is a fully owned private company founded by a group of biotechnologists from diversified backgrounds. Its core area of competence is the development of monoclonal antibody based biocomponents, biotechnology products, diagnostic products and therapeutics. ‘Hybridoma Technology’ is the basic strength acquired by the company to produce monospecific antibodies called monoclonal antibodies, which are used for developing highly specific and sensitive immunodiagnostic kits and also as therapeutics. The company has successfully developed a technology to produce monoclonal blood grouping antibodies, which are used at blood banks and clinical laboratories for typing various blood samples. The company has become the centre of excellence in “Hybridoma Technology”.

This teaching programme will be conducted in the premises of Department of Zoology, University of Madras, Guindy Campus and the Mediclone Biotech Pvt. Ltd., at Velichai (near Kelambakkam) with Prof. M. Arumugam of Department of Zoology as Programme Director and Mr. A. Mathialagan, Managing Director of Mediclone Biotech Pvt Ltd., as Programme Co-ordinator. The faculty and researchers of both these institutions as well as eminent Immunologists as guest faculty from Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University and Tuberculoses Research Centre (ICMR Unit) in Chennai will be involved in conducting this course. The curriculum of this course has been designed with 50% emphasis on wet-lab training in the premises of the industry.


2. Eligibility for Admission:
A candidate with Master’s Degree in Science in the disciplines of Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Zoology, Life Sciences, Biology and MBBS/BDS/BVSc or Allied Health Sciences.


3. Admission Procedure:
The admission for P.G. Diploma in Immunotechnology will be made based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination , entrance examination and oral interview.

The course is a one-year programme and organized on semester basis (totally two semesters), consisting of a total of three theory papers and two practical papers and a dissertation / project work throughout the course.

5. Fees:
The annual fees payable for the course in Rs. 40,000 /- (Rupees forty thousand only). This fee may be payable as D.D. drawn from a nationalized bank in favour of” The Registrar, University of Madras / Dean, Industrial Consultancy”

6. Attendance:
No candidate shall be admitted to the end - semester examination unless he/she attended not less than 80% of the classes held and produced a certificate of attendance from the course Director/Head of the Department.

7. Course of Study:
This course involves direct study through lectures, practicals, assignments, seminars and dissertation / project work. In the first semester, there are two theory papers (10 hrs per week) and one practical paper (15 hours lab work per week including project work).
In second semester, there is one theory paper (5 hours per week) and one practical (20 hours of lab work per week, including project work). The project work will commence in the first semester and will conclude with the submission of dissertation at the end of second semester.
During both the semesters, most of the laboratory courses and hands-on-training will be conducted at Mediclone Biotech. Pvt. Ltd., Chennai.

8. Conduct of Examination:
The examinations shall be conducted and valued by the faculty of the University Department / Mediclone Biotech Pvt. Ltd that offers the course. The valued answer script along with the marks lists duly certified by the Head of the University Department concerned shall be forwarded to the Controller of Examinations for scrutiny and declaring the results and issuing the Statements of Marks from the University.

About the Programme
Vinayaka Missions University has established its off-shore campus in the premises of Rangsit University, Bangkok, Thailand to offer Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) Program. This program is approved and notified in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India in concurrence with the University Grants Commission (UGC), vide their letter No.F.9-13/2005-U-3 dated October 10, 2006.

Highlights of the Program
  • MBBS is an undergraduate degree in medicine which enables one to register as a medical practitioner and to pursue post graduate degrees in various fields of medicine.
  • Duration of study is 4½ years followed by one year of internship.
  • The program follows the norms of Medical Council of India.
  • Approved and notified in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India in concurrence with the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Indian curriculum.
The course is taught in English as the medium of instruction.
The degree will be awarded by Vinayaka Missions University Offshore Campus, Bangkok, Thailand.
The Indian students graduating in this program will have to undergo a screening test as per the provisions of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and the Screening Test Regulations, 2002 of Medical Council of India, to register as a medical practitioner in India.

Course Information
Total Duration of study is 5½ years (66 months) including 1 year internship.

The entire program is divided into Five Phases as detailed below :
Basic Medical Sciences Program
Offshore Campus, Bangkok, Thailand.

Students have the option to undergo Internship in India after qualifying the Screening Test as per the provisions of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and the Screening Test Regulations, 2002 of Medical Council of India.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Indian Students:
Education : A pass in 10+2 system or higher secondary or senior secondary or Pre Degree Course or their equivalents having passed with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology /(Botany and Zoology) and English individually and with a minimum of 50 % in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/(Botany and Zoology) taken together.

For Indian students the eligibility norms of MCI will apply for quota/reserved category students.

Age : Candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 31st December, of the year of admission to the MBBS Course.
