Admission Method

For UG/PG:

Admission will be based upon merit list, prepared after entrance test. The question paper in the entrance test will be of 50 minutes duration .It will have question to the test aptitude & logical ability of the student.
The student will be required to tick one of the four choices a, b, c or d.
The candidate will have to use blue or black ink ball point pen for marking response in the response sheet .If the candidate uses any other color ink or leaves any mark of identification on the response sheet, he/ she shall be disqualified from the test.
The question paper will be in English. The response sheet should be carefully filled up by the candidate as instructed on the question –paper booklet.

For M.Tech Programmes:

Preference will be to GATE qualified candidate for all the M.Tech. Programmes. However, if the seats are not filled up with GATE qualified candidates, non GATE and sponsored candidate will be considered on the basis of written test conducted by the department. A written test covering the core computer science subject like, programming, Database management system, Computer Network & Computer Architecture will be conducted. An interview will be taken after they qualify the written test.

How to Apply :
Application forms can be filled up on payment of Rs.450/-(50/- KIOSK Charge) payable through online filling of Application form at www.mponline.gov.in from 4th May upto 25th June 2009.

In the interview the candidate shall be judged on the basis of technical aptitude, which shall be conducted by the Appropriate Technical Expert Committee.

Program wise merit list shall be prepared on the basis of the candidates GATE percentile (weightage 80%) and the marks secured in the interview by the candidate (weightage 20%).

Seats shall be first filled through GATE qualified candidates according to procedure, as listed above. However, if GATE qualified candidates are not available, then the remaining vacant seats shall be filled through non GATE qualified candidates. In this case merit list (for each course) shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination (weightage 80%) and the marks secured in the interview by the candidate (weightage 20%).

M. Phil. (Energy and Environment): (2 Semesters) A U.G.C. approved Programme dealing mainly with Energy and Environmental linkages. Programme Theme: Clean Energy Use & Production, Environment Audit & Impact Assessment, Pollution Sources & its Abatement and Waste Management.

Eligibility: Post graduate degree in Environmental Science or Energy with Min. 55% Marks
