The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is a centrally funded Deemed University that works towards creating a people-centred, ecologically sustainable and just society. The TISS hosts 6 Schools and 4 independent Centres offering 14 highly competitive, socially relevant professional postgraduate courses and vibrant M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes. The Institute has over 130 full-time faculty members involved in teaching, research, policy influencing and institution building activities and over 1000 students. It was accorded a 5-star rating by NAAC.

Eligibility:
A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognised University, in any discipline.


Deputed Candidates:
Officers deputed by the Central and State Governments and autonomous organisations for studying any of the above programmes will have to submit their applications through proper channel and they will have to appear for test and interview along with other candidates. Officials/teachers and Resource Persons applying for the M.A. in Education (Elementary) Programme will be selected through a suitable screening process comprising documentary evidence of interest and motivation for the programme or an interview.

Reservations : Government of India norms will be applicable for admission of SC/ST/OBC/PWD (Persons with Disability). Only a limited number of hostel seats and scholarships are available.
