ASMAT is the Aptitude Test for the aspirants seeking admission to ASIM. GMAT/ CAT 2008/ IBSAT 2008 scores are also accepted.

Programs Offered

MBA PROGRAM:

The MBA Program of the University prepares the students with the skills, knowledge and strategic perspectives essential to the leadership of business anywhere in the world. The MBA Program is designed to provide both a portfolio of strong functional skills and the ability to apply, adapt and integrate those skills in different management settings.

Admission
Admission is through Adam Smith Management Aptitude Test (ASMAT 2009) and Interview process.

Program Structure
The Program covers 28 courses apart from 2 Management Theses and 2 courses of Soft Skill Labs spread over 2 years in 4 semesters. Students are also required to undergo a summer internship program.

Commencement of Classes
The preparatory classes for the program will start from June 01, 2009 at all ASIM Campuses. All students are required to attend these classes, which will ensure that they build the foundation required for effective learning during the program.

Electives
The students can pursue elective courses in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Operations and Information Technology & Systems. Each student must choose eight electives. While four of these electives must be from a single stream, the others can be from any stream. To specialize in a particular stream, a student has to pursue at least four electives from that stream. Thus a student can acquire a dual specialization by choosing four electives from one stream and another four from a second stream. The program offers further flexibility in terms of two optional free electives, which are not an essential part of the graduation requirement but can be opted for by interested students.

MBA-CFA Program:
For those aspiring to pursue fast-track careers in the sunrise sectors ASIM offers the MBA-CFA Dual Masters Program. The MBA stream prepares them for management/leadership positions. The CFA stream gives them deep financial insights. This will be a unique skill-set combining analysis and synthesis, operations and strategy.

The MBA stream is designed to provide both a portfolio of strong functional skills and the ability to apply, adapt, synthesize and integrate those skills into different management settings. The CFA stream provides an indepth understanding of financial analysis. The knowledge of which can be applied in banking and financial services sector and practice areas like strategic finance, mergers and acqusitions, risk management and consulting.

Through this Dual Masters option, the students may acquire two career-oriented professional qualifications in management and financial analysis and also save precious time. Instead of the normal duration of 4 years (two years for MBA and two years for CFA) the students of the Dual Masters Program may complete the same in 2 years.

The second year MBA students of ASIM can opt for Finance stream as electives with CFA subjects. There will be eight elective subjects which will be covered for such students. They are required to enroll separately for the CFA Program of the ICFAI University and pay the specified fee. Students opting for CFA electives will need to have stipulated minimum CGPA of 7.5 at the end of the second semester. This will be offered at select campuses, subject to minimum number of registrations.

After the successful completion of the Dual Masters Program, the students will receive the MBA Degree, MFA (Master of Financial Analysis) degree and the

CFA Charter and Designation from the ICFAI University, Tripura.
