ADMISSION TO MBBS COURSE 2008-2009

Applications are invited from eligible candidates who have secured more than 50% marks in COMEDK UGET/ KCET 2008 for admission to MBBS course during the current academic year 2008-2009.

ABOUT THE MANAGEMENT

The Nitte Education Trust was founded in the year 1979 by Justice KS Hegde, Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Justice Hegde strongly believed that education is pivotal to the overall progress of a community and this vision saw the birth of the Nitte Education Trust. After the death of the founder, his son, Mr. NV Hegde has taken up the task of transforming his dreams into reality.

The Trust has 3 sprawling campuses – at Bangalore, Mangalore and Nitte comprising 22 institutions including a Medical College with a 600-bed teaching hospital, a Dental College, 2 Engineering Colleges, 4 Para-Medical Colleges, a Management Institute, College of Hotel Management and a host of schools and colleges. Alongside, the Trust continuously strives to improve the quality of life of the socially and economically disadvantaged through various community development projects.


COURSES OFFERED
  • Graduate program (M.B.B.S) – Intake 100
  • Postgraduate program (M.D / M.S) – Intake 12

DURATION
M.B.B.S: The duration of the course is 5 ½ years which includes 4 ½ years of study in the college followed by one year of compulsory rotatory internship. M.D / M.S: The duration of the course is 3 years.

ELIGIBILITY
A pass in 12th standard or equivalent examination approved by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study, with atleast 50% marks in aggregate of optional subjects. The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2008.
