About the University
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is an affiliating and teaching University, established by Government of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998 read with its Amendment in 1999. It is recognized by University Grants Commission, India under section 12B of UGC Act. and has been accredited "A Grade" by NAAC.

M.Sc. Biodiversity and Conservation
The course will introduce to biodiversity and conservation biology and will impart in-depth knowledge on topics ranging from evolution, ecology, land use, wilderness preservation, global warming, species extinction, and the economic and social impact of environmental actions.
The aim of this course is to provide the theoretical and practical background needed for those looking to pursue their career in the field of conservation of biological diversity and their natural habitats based on scientific research. The objective of this course is to make the professional aware of the social, political and economic issues relevant to achieving the above goal. The course would produce biologists who can communicate and address the problems related to conservation projects.

Innovative Teaching
Some modules will make use of the Virtual Field Trip to introduce students to field research and the types of ecosystems existing in the Indian Peninsula.

Course structure: 2 Years (Semester wise)
Intake: 15 (Fifteen)

Eligibility
B.Sc. degree or equivalent (Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Anthropology or any field of Life Sciences) with minimum 60% marks.

Mode of Selection
Admissions will be on merit based on the qualifying exams

* An application on plain paper, addressed to the Dr. Rita Singh, Course Co-ordinator requesting to issue Admission Brochure for M. Sc. Biodiversity and Conservation. The application should clearly mention the name and the address of the applicant;
* A Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only) in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, payable at Delhi. The name, address and phone number of the applicant should be clearly mentioned on the backside of the Demand Draft.

* A self-addressed envelope of size not less than 24cms x 30cms.
