After the stupendous success of the first batch, the Health Promotion and Health Communication Unit of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be organizing the second “Pre-Marriage Training Course for Happy Married Life”, first of its kind in a government medical college , in October 2008. This two days course is meant for the men and women, especially young adults, going to get married. The second course is scheduled for 21-22 October, 2008 and is open to any Indian citizen of more than 18 years of age and planning to get married .

Why this Course ?
Incidence of marital discord and sexual disharmony, HIV/AIDS and STDs amongst the young couples is rising. Apart from stress in general life, it is believed that ignorance, myths and misconceptions about human body, sex and failure to adjust in marriage are the principle reasons for this.

That is the motivation for starting such a course. This course aims to help the youth in preparing physically, socially and emotionally for married life in a better way.

A maximum of 30 participants will be registered per batch on “first come- first served” basis. A nominal registration fee will be charged for this two days course.

Participants will also be advised on screening for certain genetic and acquired diseases before getting into nuptial alliance.


Eminent specialists will take sessions in this participatory course that will cover information on :

• Human and sexual anatomy;
• Sexual functions, sexual problems and their solutions
• Contraception;
• Common sexual problems;
• Sexually transmitted diseases ( STDs) including HIV/ AIDS,
• Advice about screening for genetic diseases ; and
• Making adjustments in married life etc.

A monthly fellowship of Rs.3,000/- will be paid to the admitted M.V.Sc students who are residents of Puducherry Union Territory and Rs.1,000/- to those admitted from Other States/ Union Territories.

ADMISSION TO M.V.Sc. PROGRAMME

Rajiv Gandhi College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Puducherry came into its existence on 14th of October 1994. This college is wholly funded by the Government of Puducherry and is managed by a Board of Governors with the Chief Secretary to the Government of Puducherry as its Chairman. The college has adopted Veterinary Council of India (VCI) regulations and curricula since its inception for the Five year B.V.Sc & AH Degree Programme and the degree is recognized by the VCI. The college is permanently affiliated to Pondicherry Central University.

1. Major Fields

The Post - graduate Programme leading to M.V.Sc (Master of Veterinary Science) degree in the following major fields is offered for the academic year 2008-2009.

Livestock Products Technology (LPT)
Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension (AHE)
Veterinary Biochemistry (VBC)
Veterinary Microbiology (VMC)
Veterinary Pathology (VPP)

The duration of the course is two academic years, which includes one-year course work and one-year thesis work. The number of seats in each discipline are three (two are for residents of Puducherry Union Territory and one for candidates from other states and Union Territories).

2. Eligibility for Admission

2.1 Academic qualification: B.V.Sc & A.H degree recognized by Veterinary Council of India with a minimum O.G.P.A of 6.0 in 10.point scale. (5.0 for SC/ST candidates.) In other grading systems OGPA/Marks will be appropriately proportioned with 10 point grading scale.

2.2 Age: Should not have completed 35 years as on 31st December 2008 (Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.)
3. Criteria for Residents of Puducherry UT
A candidate is considered as resident of Puducherry UT if he/she is an Indian national and satisfies at least one of the following criteria:

1. Those candidates or whose parents have been residing continuously in the Puducherry UT at least for 5 years as on the preceding date of submission of application (Form D).

2. Children of Central / State Government Servants / Defence personnel / Central Paramilitary Forces/ Employees of Public Sector Undertakings / autonomous bodies wholly or substantially run either by the Central Government or by the Puducherry UT administration for at least a minimum period of one year to the last date of submission of application (Form D).

3. Children of natives of the Puducherry UT who have declared any place in Puducherry UT as their hometown and so certified by their respective Heads of Office. In such case, Nativity certificate in the prescribed format has to be enclosed along with the admission application (Form E).

4. Children of Defence Personnel who were killed or disabled in action and children of central Government Servants / Puducherry UT Government Servants/ Defence personnel / Employees of Public Sector Undertakings as referred in category (2) who died while in service in Puducherry (Form D).

5. French National residing in Puducherry UT and covered by the terms of the Treaty of Cession shall be treated on par with the candidates who produce the prescribed Puducherry residence certificate. Such French nationals will not be required to produce residence certificate, instead they should produce a certificate of registration issued for this purpose from the French Consulate at Puducherry. Children of these French Nationals shall not be considered for admission under the quota of non residents.

For this purpose the relevant certificate in original has to be enclosed.

4. Application Procedure

Application for admission should be made in the prescribed form. Application form along with Information Bulletin can be obtained in person or by post by sending self-addressed A 4 size envelope stamped worth Rs.30/- from the office of the Dean of the college. All applications duly completed along with a non-refundable fee of Rs.500/- in Cash/Demand Draft drawn in favour of Dean, RAGACOVAS, payable at Puducherry. (Rs. 200/- for SC/ST candidates) should be sent to The Dean, Rajiv Gandhi College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Kurumbapet, Puducherry 605 009 so as to reach him on or before 5.00 pm on 22.09.2008. Money Order/Postal Order etc., will not be accepted. Applications which are incomplete or received after the due date and time shall be rejected summarily and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Army Institute of Management, Kolkata (AIMK) was established in July 1997 by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), New Delhi. Business India has ranked AIMK as ‘A’ Category B-School in India in 2007.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree with 50% Marks in aggregate in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. Candidates completing all requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s Degree by June 2009 may also apply.

The Name of the B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) course stands changed to Post Basic B.Sc. Degree in Nursing and for applying for admission to above programme the minimum period of professional nursing experience in a hospital or community setting, after registration inthe concerned State Nursing Council inthe Country is reduced to one year. ADMISSION NOTICE FOR BDS COURSE 2008

The Banaras Hindu University will hold an all India Entrance Test for admission to BDS course on 12.10.2008 on its campus.

ELIGIBILITY: Intermediate 10+2 (or equivalent) in Science with 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST) in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. Application form along with the Information Brochure can be obtained by post from the Office of the Director, IMS, BHU, Varanasi-221005 by sending a written request through Registered Post alongwith MICR demand draft of Rs 1060/- (Rs. 660/- for SC/ST) drawn in favour of the Director, IMS, BHU, payable at Varanasi along with two self addressed white paper slips of 6 cm x 10 cm in size. Moneyorder and cheque will not be accepted. The envelop should be clearly superscribed "Application for BDS Entrtance Test - 2008, BHU". The request for application form by post must reach on or before 15.9.2008.

The application form can also be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 600/- for SC/ST) from the counter of the main Post Office on the BHU Campus (Near Kendriya Vidyalaya, BHU) between 8.9.2008 and 22.9.2008. The last date for submission of completed application is 24.9.2008 upto 5.00 PM. The Institute will not be responsible for loss of application form in transit.

ADMISSION NOTIFICATION MBA & MIBA FOR SESSION 2009-2010

TWO YEAR POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
(with specialization in Marketing / HRD / Finance) - MBA Seats 40*
(with specialization in International Business) – MIBA Seats 40*

RESERVATION : SC: 15%; ST: 7.5%; PD: 3% and OBC : 18% (Under Staggered Implementation Plan)

PAID SEATS : 10 (MBA 05 & MIBA 05)

WHO CAN APPLY:

Candidates should have a bachelor degree under 10+2+3 pattern/ a degree in Agriculture, Technology, Medicine, Education or law/ a post graduate degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from any University/Institution recognized by AIU/AICTE. For SC/ST candidates, 45% marks is required. (Candidates should also fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements for appearing in CAT 2008)

Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination can also apply provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by October 05, 2009 after completing all the requirements for obtaining the qualifying degree before June 30, 2009.

HOW TO APPLY :

Step 1: Candidates seeking admission to FMS-BHU will be required to purchase CAT 2008 (conducted by IIMs) Bulletin available from July 14 to August 13, 2008 and appear in CAT 2008 on SUNDAY, November 16, 2008. Completed CAT Application forms should be directly sent to the concerned IIMs on or before September 05, 2008 (for details see CAT 2008 Notification). Selection will be made strictly on the basis of the combined Merit acquired by a Candidate in CAT 2008, Group Discussion and Interview.

The FMS, BHU uses CAT for short-listing the candidates for its two-year full time Post-Graduate Programmes in Management. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

Step 2: Candidates are also required to register at FMS, BHU through separate application form which has to be obtained from Faculty of Management Studies, BHU, Varanasi from July 18, 2008 either in person against crossed SBI Bank Draft (MICR) /Banker’s Cheque of Rs. 850/- (Rs. 550/- for SC/ST) till November 24, 2008 OR by post through a requisition along with Crossed SBI Bank Draft (MICR) of Rs. 900/- (Rs. 600/- for SC/ST) and self-addressed envelope of 32x26 cm. till November 1, 2008 OR may be downloaded from the web site of BHU (www.bhu.ac.in). The downloaded application form must be submitted along with demand draft of Rs. 850/- (Rs. 550/- for SC/ST Category). The Bank Draft/Banker’s Cheque should be drawn in favour of the Registrar, Banaras Hindu University payable at SBI, BHU Main Branch (Code 0211). Completed application form be submitted to “The Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi – 221005” on or before November 25, 2008.
