Eligibility: Honours Graduate in Science/Arts/Commerce or Graduate in Management / Engineering or 5 years Law. Those who have appeared in the final examination of 2010 may be selected but their admission will be provisional till the publication of result and submission of proof to the effect. Candidates appearing in MAT/JEMAT should have a valid score and score of MAT/JEMAT Examinations before September 2009, will not be considered. Graduates (other than in Management/Engineering/Law) not having honours degree and having ‘major’ in any subject are not eligible to appear GD & Interview

Student Strength and Selection Procedure:

Admission of 25 candidates through State Level Examination (JEMAT) conducted by West Bengal University of Technology and through MAT Examination conducted by the AIMA followed by Personal Interview and Group Discussion. Applications are invited in plain paper for admission to M.Phil (Masters of Philosophy), Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) and LL.D. (Doctors of Laws) Degree. The last date for submission of the application is 10th May, 2010.

2) Ph.D
An applicant seeking admission to Ph.D Degree programme must have an M.Phil/LL.M Degree in law either from NUJS or from any other recognized university, having secured not less than a ‘B’ grade or an aggregate of 50% marks in LL.M or its equivalent.

Provided in appropriate cases the P.G. Council on the basis of the appropriate representation made by the candidate may permit the candidates from M.Phil/Masters’ Degree in any other discipline to take admission in Ph.D.

Fees – Registration fees of Rs. 10,000 (at the time of registration) plus annual fees of Rs. 15,000 per annum.

3) LL.D.
An applicant seeking LL.D Degree programme must have a Ph.D Degree in law related subject; Provided in appropriate cases the P.G. Council on the basis of the appropriate representation made by the candidate may permit the candidates with from Ph.D Degree in any other discipline to take admission in LL.D.

Fees – Registration fees of Rs. 20,000 (at the time of registration) plus annual fees of Rs. 25,000 per annum.

The applications need be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of the WBNUJS, Kolkata payable at Kolkata.

Those candidates who have already applied may formalize their application by remitting a D.D. of Rs. 500/- as above.
