Applications are invited in plain paper for admission to M.Phil (Masters of Philosophy), Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) and LL.D. (Doctors of Laws) Degree. The last date for submission of the application is 10th May, 2010.

The short listed candidates for M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree shall have to take an entrance examination on 17th May, 2010, Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the premises of NUJS. The eligibility criteria for M.Phil/Ph.D/LL.D. Degree is as follows:-

1) M.Phil
An applicant seeking admission to M.Phil Degree shall have an LL.M. Degree either from NUJS or from any other recognized university, having secured not less than a ‘B’ grade or an aggregate of 50% marks or its equivalent.

Fees – Registration fees of Rs.5,000/- (at the time of registration) plus annual fee of Rs.10,000/-

2) Ph.D
An applicant seeking admission to Ph.D Degree programme must have an M.Phil/LL.M Degree in law either from NUJS or from any other recognized university, having secured not less than a ‘B’ grade or an aggregate of 50% marks in LL.M or its equivalent.

Provided in appropriate cases the P.G. Council on the basis of the appropriate representation made by the candidate may permit the candidates from M.Phil/Masters’ Degree in any other discipline to take admission in Ph.D.

Fees – Registration fees of Rs. 10,000 (at the time of registration) plus annual fees of Rs. 15,000 per annum.

3) LL.D.
An applicant seeking LL.D Degree programme must have a Ph.D Degree in law related subject; Provided in appropriate cases the P.G. Council on the basis of the appropriate representation made by the candidate may permit the candidates with from Ph.D Degree in any other discipline to take admission in LL.D.

Fees – Registration fees of Rs. 20,000 (at the time of registration) plus annual fees of Rs. 25,000 per annum.

The applications need be accompanied by a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of the WBNUJS, Kolkata payable at Kolkata.

Those candidates who have already applied may formalize their application by remitting a D.D. of Rs. 500/- as above.

In Person The application forms can also be obtained from the Pondicherry University Staff Co-operative Credit Society at the University campus on payment of the cost of the application form plus Rs. 10/- as service charge.

Online Application form can be submitted online through the University Website www.pondiuni.edu.in Send the hard copy (in A4 size) along with the original bank challan for the prescribed fee
