Admission Notice to the M.Ed. Course ( 2010-2011)
(N.C.T.E. approved)

Applications are invited from eligible candidates with at least 50% marks in M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. along with B.Ed degree in prescribed form obtainable from the University Sales Counter on payment of Rs100/- for admission to the Master of Education Course in the i) Department of Education, C.U.(no. of seats -30), Alipore Campus,1 Reformatory Street, Kolkata-700027; ii) David Hare Training College(no. of seats -20,for male candidates only) ,25/3,Ballygunge Circular Road,Kolkata-700019; iii) Institute of Education for Women, Hastings House,(no. of seats-20, for female candidates only) 20B, Judges Court Road, Alipur, Kolkata -700027 . The candidates employed on full time basis must apply through proper channel and furnish a no objection certificate from their employer at the time of submission of forms. Attested copies of Mark- Sheets of M.A/.M.Sc./M.Com., B.Ed., NET., SET, M.Phil., Ph.D and age proof certificate are to be submitted with the application forms in the office of the Sr. Secretary, Alipur Campus 1,Reformatory Street, Kolkata-27 (Ground floor, Student Section). Incomplete forms will be rejected. Selection will be made as per University norms and usual reservation rules ( OU- 5% from recognized University , SC-22% , ST-6% and PH-3%) will be applicable. Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe applicants from the other States will not get the reservation facility of SC/ST. Admission to the said course is based on a Selection Test followed by counseling where the Selection Test will be conducted on a) Logical reasoning and critical thinking b)Comprehension skill c) Language d) Current information on Education. The teachers of recognized Govt. or Govt. sponsored B.Ed. Training Colleges will be exempted from taking the Selection Test.

Age limit: 35 years as on 30.6.2010 for fresher candidates and 55 years as on 30.6.2010 for candidates employed in Secondary/Higher Secondary Schools, Colleges, Govt. and Semi Govt. organizations

Date of submission of application form 14.5.2010 to 24.5.2010 between 11.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m.
Date of selection test:- 28.5.2010
Date of publication of Merit List: 17.6.2010
Date of counseling : 22.06.2010
Date of admission:-25.6.2010 and 28.6.2010

Rs. 1600/- (Rs. 800/- for SC/ST) in the Post Offices at Chandigarh (Sector – 14, 17, 36 and 47), Amritsar (Court Road, Head Post Office), Abohar (Old Court Road), Delhi (Gole Post Office, Cannaught Place), Dharamshala (The Mall), Hoshiarpur (Near District Courts), Kurukshetra (Near Railway Station), Ludhiana (Bharat Nagar Chowk), Mohali (Phase-I), Muktsar (Head Post Office), Panchkula (Sector-8), Sangrur (Head Post Office, Near Ghantaghar), Shimla (The Mall).

Form can be had by post from the Manager Publication Bureau, Panjab University, Sector 14, Chandigarh on payment of (i) B.Ed. Rs. 1280/- (Rs. 680/- for SC/ST) (ii) M.Ed. Rs. 1680 (Rs. 880/- for SC/ST) through Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh, payable at Chandigarh only.

Last date for receipt of completed Application Form (B.Ed. and M.Ed.) (both by hand / post) at the CET Cell, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh is 16.06.2009 (Friday) upto 4.00 p.m. after this the form will be accepted by hand only with late fee of Rs. 1000/- upto 25-06-2009 and Rs. 2500/- upto 30-06-2009.
