M.Phil Admissions
The Institute invites applications for admission to one year M. Phil. Programme of study in Social Sciences with core papers in Research Methodology and Dr. Ambedkar’s Thought and Contemporary Socioeconomic Issues of Indian Society; and any two optional papers from : Life and Philosophy of Dr. Ambedkar; The Development of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes; Rural Development and Panchayat Raj; Women & Child Development; and Social Development and Justice. Besides, the candidate will be required to write a dissertation in one of the related topics, to be decided by the Institute.

SEATS & RESERVATION
Total seats are 47 (42 seats with fellowship and 5 seats without fellowship, to be filled in by sponsored candidates on merit basis). Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and girls will be as per M.P. Govt. rules. Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls, subject to availability of seats.

FELLOWSHIP & CONTINGENCY
For M.Phil., Rs. 1,500/- p.m. and contingency of Rs. 2,000/- per year.

ELIGIBILITY
A post-graduate degree in any subject from a recognized university under faculties of Social Sciences, Education, Law, Women & Child Development in the Faculty of Home Science, and Philosophy in the Faculty of Humanities, with a minimum of 50% for SC/ST and 55% for Others candidates. The candidates appearing for post-graduation final examination of 2008 can also apply. A candidate who has already done M. Phil. will not to be eligible. JRF awarders may directly apply for admission and need not appear for entrance test.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
The selection will be based on a written test and an oral test. The written test of 100 marks will be of three hours duration. It will consist of three questions, one on theory, one on research methodology and one pertaining to

Eligibility Qualification:
SSC Examination of CBSE or equivalent (10+2) with 50% or more marks for general category and 45% for SC/ST/PH and CWAPP category in the aggregate of four subjects viz. PCBE for BPT/BOT and PCBE/PCME for BPO, provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately. The candidates appearing/ appeared in the 10+2 examination may also apply. However, it is subjected to their clearance of qualifying examination with required percentage of marks before declaration of result of entrance test.

The candidates who have passed their 10+2 examination before the year 2005 and have discontinued their regular studies for more than 3 years are not eligible to appear in the entrance test.

Age as on 01.10.2008 : Minimum of 17 years. Maximum of 23 years for General Category and 28 years for SC,ST & PH Category

FEE STRUCTURE:

SCHOLARSHIPS:
The University provides liberal scholarships/ fee waivers for the needy and deserving students admitted to the course.

Admission to Ph.D. Programme for 2008-2009

National Institute for Plant Genome Research, is an Autonomous Research Institution, funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and conducts basic and applied research in the frontier areas of plant biology. The Institute invites applications from candidates who have completed or will be completing M. Sc. (by August 11, 2008) in Life Science or equivalent in related disciplines with minimum 55% marks, and have cleared the CSIR-UGC NET exam / DBT-JRF (selected through BET) / ICMR NET exam for JRF (with a valid Junior Research Fellowship as on September 1, 2008), for conducting advanced researches in the frontier areas of Plant Science such as Developmental Biology, Signal Transduction, Stress Biology, Structural, Functional and Nutritional Genomics, Developing Transgenic Crop Plants etc. Reservations are as per Govt. of India norms. The selection will be made on the basis of interview only.

The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D. program in academic affiliation with the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. NIPGR will provide shared accommodation to selected candidates.

Eligibility: General/ OBC category B.Pharm 60%; SC/ST- B.Pharm 55% marks.

The admission shall be strictly on the basis of merit drawn on 80% GATE and 20 % Interview for fulltime candidates. In case GATE qualified candidates are not available the remaining seats will be filled by NON GATE candidates on the basis of a combined score of 80% weightage for their percentage/ percentile in the qualifying examination and 20% weightage for interview marks. The reservation for SC/ST/OBC shall be strictly as per norms of the MP Government. A few seats are available for the sponsored category students (for ME/M.Tech) having minimum 2 years experience as per AICTE norms.

Applications are invited for the MBA admissions 2008-09 for the OBC category with valid CAT score.

Last date for the receipt of the applications is 23rd May, 2008.

Eligible candidates may appear for the GD & personal interview scheduled on 31st May, 2008. No separate letters will be sent for GD & personal interview. The list of the eligible candidates will be placed at the institute’s website by 25h May, 2008.

Candidates selected for MBA Admissions 2008-09 belonging to eligible OBC category and has applied earlier under general category may change their category by sending a mail at pankaj@iiitm.ac.in.
