Applications have been invited for the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University Medical Common Entrance Test (SBVUMCET) for admission to MBBS course at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute (MGMCRI), Puduvai-Cuddalore Main Road, Pillaiyarkuppam, Puducherry-607402' and at Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute, Tiruporur-Guduvancherry Main Road, Ammapettai, Nellikkuppam, Kancheepuram District, Cheenai-603108.
Applicant should have passed the H.Sc (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC) in Biology (Botany & Zoology), Physics and Chemistry and should have taken English as one of the subjects. Applicant should also secure above 50% marks in the CET. Applicant should have completed 17 years of age as on 31.12.2010. The maximum number of appearances (including the first appearance) permitted to pass the qualifying examination is 2 for SC/ST and one for OBC/Others.
Application from and Information Booklet can be obtained from the College Office at Puducherry/Chennai on payment of Rs.1000/- by Cash or it can be obtained by Post by sending a request along with a Demand Draft for Rs.1050/- drawn in favour of 'Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University', payable at Puducherry. Application can be downloaded from www.balajitrust.org filled up and submitted with a Demand Draft for Rs.1050/-. Information Brochure can also be downloaded from the site.
The completed applications should reach 'The Secretary, SBVUMCET2010, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute Campus, Puduvai-Cuddalore Main Road, Pillaiyarkuppam, Puducherry-607402' latest by 5 pm on 28th May, 2010. The CET which will have objective type questions from Physics,, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology will be held on 5th June, 2010 at Puducherry, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
