Applications are invited for the Ph. D. program scheduled to commence from August 2010 in the following areas of basic sciences:

• Biological/Life Sciences
• Chemical Sciences
• Mathematical Sciences
• Physical Sciences
  

Eligibility:

Biological/Life Sciences: First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in:

• M. Sc. In Life/Biological Sciences or equivalent, including Biochemical, Biophysical, Biomathematical, Conservation or Ecological sciences.
• B.Tech/M.Tech /MBBS degree holders may also apply.
• The candidate MUST qualify National Eligibility Test (NET) with CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF OR DBT-JRF-A OR ICMR-JRF OR INSPIRE-Ph.D OR GATE (>95 percentile) to apply. Candidates qualifying CSIR-Lectureship (NET) are NOT eligible.

Chemical Sciences: First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in:

• M. Sc. or equivalent degree in Chemistry/Physics/Biochemistry/Material Science

Mathematical Sciences: First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in:

• M. A./M. Sc. Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science or M. Stat.

Physical Sciences: First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in:

• M. Sc. or equivalent degree in Physics/Mathematics OR
• B. Tech. in relevant area.
• The candidate MUST qualify National Eligibility Test (NET) with CSIR/UGC-JRF OR GATE/JEST (>95 percentile) to apply.

The last date for receipt of completed applications is April 30, 2010.
