SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME(AYURVEDA)
Applications in the Prescribed Format are invited upto 20-10-2008 for Senior Research Fellowship Programme(Ayurved) in Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha(CCRAS), New Delhi. The details are as under:
Number of SRF (Ayurveda): 25 (General-13, SC-4, ST-2 and OBC-6)
Qualification:
A Post Graduate Degree in Ayurveda in any discipline from a recognised University or Institution and duly recognised by CCIM.
Age Limit:
35 Years as on 1-1-2009. (Relaxation of 5 Years for SC, ST, PH and Women and 3 Years for OBC)
Emoluments:
For those scholars who are not drawing/getting Stipend from their respective Institutes/Universities:
Rs. 20,000 for 1st Year, Rs. 21,000 for 2nd Year, Rs. 22,000 for 3rd Year.

CENTRAL COUNCIL FOR RESEARCH IN AYURVEDA & SIDDHA, (CCRAS), Deptt. Of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi an apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of research in Ayurveda & Siddha in the Country.
The CCRAS carries out research on scientific lines in Ayurveda and Siddha through a planned research programme in various fields and it has taken up following research programmes (Intramural Research) through its (i) Ten Central (ii) Sixteen Regional and (iii) Twelve Research Centers / Units located in different parts of India.
1. AYUSH Literature Research2. Basic Research
3. Drug Research
4. Clinical Research
5. Reproductive and Child Health Care Research
6. Bio-Medical instrumentation Research
7. Nutraceutical Research
8. Cosmeceutical Research
9. Medico-Ethno-Botanical Survey, Cultivation and tribal/ folk claims documentation.
The CCRAS has also taken up some Projects of National Importance:
1. Feasibility of Introducing Indian System of Medicine (Ayurveda and Siddha) in the National Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) Programme at the Primary Health Care (PHC) level: Launching of the pilot project with 17 Ayurvedic and 16 Siddha Medicines: ICMR – CCRAS collaboration.
2. Validation of safety of Ayurvedic Metallic Bhasmas
3. Automization of Panchakarma Instruments.
Definite research strategy and Strengthening of research capabilities are pivotal for successful research operations and the CCRAS always tries to adopt new strategies from time to time. In order to encourage the young & talented scientists to strengthen the Human resource development (HRD) in biomedical research in the fields of Ayurveda & Siddha, the CCRAS has launched fellowship by providing grant-in-aids such as Senior Research Fellowships.
