ADMISSION NOTICE
M.TECH (ENERGY STUDIES) 2008-2009
Applications are invited for full time IV Semesters M.Tech. (Energy Studies) course which includes theory, practical, industrial training (2 and half months) and project (06 months).
Eligibility: M.Sc./BE/ B.TECH or equivalent (in any subject)
Seats: 20+2 (sponsored candidates)
Admission:
(1) 50% through GATE score
(2) 50% through Entrance Test
Reservation Criteria: as per Government of Maharashtra rules 50% seats are reserved for SC, ST, DTNT, OBC & 3% seats are reserved for physically handicapped students.
Quota: for other university students 30%
About M.Tech in Energy Studies:
M.Tech. course is introduced for the Engineering Graduates ( B.E.) / Post graduate students in Science (M.Sc.). The main objective of this course is to train these students, through multi-disciplinary approach in the field of energy audit, management and conservation as well as the Non-conventional energy sources and environmental engineering. Such trained manpower would be useful to optimize and conserve the energy resources, utilize waste energy, reduce environmental pollution produced due to inefficient energy usage and introduce new renewable energy sources in the society. The course is being conducted in close association with one of the industry leader Thermax Ltd. Pune and other leading industry experts and consultants in the energy field.
Eligibility:
Valid GATE score card (If the student is qualified in GATE)
The sponsored candidates must submit the Letter of Sponsorship and No Objection Certificate from the Head / Authorized person of his parent organization at the time of interviews. It should be mentioned clearly in the letter that the fees for the course will be born by the sponsoring organization and the required full time leave will be sanctioned to the candidate.
The applicants should enclose the attested copies of the certificates and mark sheets of examinations (S.S.C. onwards) passed by them along with the application form. Candidates belonging to reservation categories will be required to submit a certificate from an authorized officer not below the rank of Magistrate / Tahasildar to the effect that the candidate belongs to the respective reserved category. In case the certificates / mark sheets are in a language other than English, Hindi or Marathi the English version of such documents duly attested should be enclosed. All candidates selected for admission must produce the necessary original certificates and documents for verification at the time of admission. Students who have passed their qualifying examinations from Universities outside India are required to follow the rules and procedures laid down by the International Students Centre of the University of Pune.
