ADMISSION NOTICE PDC 2008-2009

9th Batch Post-Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (2008-2009)

ABOUT THE COURSE:

The course is of one year duration (2 Semesters) and covers mandatory requirements under Indian Electricity Amendment Rules, 1981, which stipulates "No person shall be authorized to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated sub-station unless he is adequately qualified and has undergone the specified training at a recognized Institute".

ELIGIBILITY:

3 (Three) Years Diploma holders or equivalent in Mech./Elect./ Instrumentation Engineering form a recognized Technical Board with minimum of 60% marks. Reservation for SC/ST OBC is applicable as per Govt. norms.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:
Merit on based on Diploma marks

AGE LIMIT:

For non-sponsored candidates the age limit as on 30-09-2008 is 27 years. No age limit for the sponsored candidate.

TOTAL SEATS:

50 (Fifty seats) (Provisional). Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged as per Govt. of India Norms for Non-sponsored candidates. 25% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from Power Utilities having more than one year experience and more than 65% marks in Diploma.

PLACEMENT:

To provide career opportunities in the Indian Power Sector, NPTI shall maintain close linkages with Power Utilities and reputed companies for employment of these trained Diploma engineers. Most of the studetns of previous batches were placed decently in reputed companies. NPTI will not make any efforts for placement of SPONSORED Candidates.
