Admission to Vacant Seats in B. Arch / B.E. 2008 through Institutional Counselling at BIT Mesra, BIT Patna and BIT Deoghar

Few seats in the B.E. programme of the Institute, under state quota for various states, are vacant at BIT Mesra, BIT Patna and BIT Deoghar after the first round of Central Counselling by CCB and allotments and admissions through Form 1 and Form 2. The vacant seats are to be filled through Institutional Counselling at BIT Mesra, BIT Patna and BIT Deoghar. Provisional selections will be strictly based on All India Rank in AIEEE 2008 for each State and category / sub-category from among those candidates who have been declared eligible for Central Counselling and also fulfill the other eligibility criteria of the Institute, including age and marks in Class 10 & Class 12 (see below). ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1. Candidates must have appeared in AIEEE 2008 and must have rank cards showing that they are eligible for Central Counselling
2. Candidates must also satisfy the following eligibility criteria for age and performance in Class 10 and Class 12.
a) Maximum age limit for admission is 21 years as on 01.10.2008
b) Candidates must have passed in ALL subjects in which they have appeared in Class 10 (excluding optional subjects) with minimum 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in average. Marks in Class 10 to be computed as average of marks obtained in ALL subjects in which candidate has appeared (excluding optional subjects).
c) Candidates must have passed in English, Physics, Mathematics and other 2 subjects as per AIEEE norms in Class 12 / I. Sc. or equivalent examination, with minimum 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks. Marks in Class 12 to be computed as average of best 5 subjects including English, Physics, Mathematics and other 2 subjects as per AIEEE norms.

SELECTION PROCEDURE / ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

Provisional selections will be on the basis of AIR in AIEEE 2008 for each State and category / sub-category from among those candidates who also fulfill the other eligibility criteria mentioned above. Merit list and provisional selection list will be notified on or before 23 August 2008 only on our website and Notice Boards at BIT Mesra, BIT Patna and BIT Deoghar, and no separate intimations will be sent to candidates. Provisionally selected candidates will be required to take admission by 30 August 2008, failing which their provisional offers will be cancelled and given to the eligible candidates who are next in merit.
