NITTE University, Deralakatte, Mangalore, Karnataka -575 018, has invited applications for admission to the MBBS/BDS Courses offered at the Constituent colleges of the Deemed University.

Selection to the MBBS Course at K S Hegde Medical Academy and for BDS at A.B Shetty Institute of Dental Sciences, will be based on the NITTE University Under Graduate Entrance Test (NU UGET– 2009) to be held from 10 a.m to 1 p.m on 31.05.2009 (Sunday) at (i) NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Govindapura, Gollahalli, Near BSF Office, Yelahanka, Bangalore-560 064 (ii) AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences/K S Hegde Medical Academy, Deralakatte, Mangalore- 575 018 (iii) Ernakulam (iv) Ahmedabad and (v) Delhi.

The syllabus for NU UGET will ordinarily be that prescribed for Pre University Course in Karnataka. There will be one question paper (booklet) consisting of 180 multiple choice questions each carrying one mark, with questions worth 60 marks each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each having one best response out of four alternatives. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The final rank list is generated based on the scores in the Entrance Test for those who score 50% or more.

Applicant should have passed the Second year Pre-University/12th Standard/equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. Those awaiting results of 10+2 may also apply, subject to the submission of attested copies of the marks cards before 28.5.2009 and scoring more than 50% in the Entrance Test. P.G. Diploma Course in Tea Technology and Plantation Management (PGDTTPM)

Dibrugarh University in consultation with the Tea Industries has been conducting a course on Post Graduate Diploma in Tea Technology and Plantation Management (PGDTTPM) from the session 2007-2008. The course is of 2 (two) semesters with a total duration of 1 (one) year.

Eligibility :
Candidates having Bachelor degree in any stream including engineering/technology from any recognized University securing at least 40% marks in Major or 45% in aggregate. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for candidates from the SC/ST/OBC categories.

Method of Selection for admission:
Selection of candidates for admission will be made on merit and an entrance test followed by an interview and group discussion. The question paper shall be of 50 marks, two-hour duration and will consist of objective type questions on general awareness, quantitative aptitude, test of reasoning and basic knowledge on tea and its industry. There shall be no negative marking. There shall also be 50 marks for interview/group discussion, career and extra curricular activities

Test Centres:
The venue for the Entrance Test will be Centre for Tea and Agro Studies, Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh-786004.
