3. Gate qualified candidates admitted in above mentioned M.Tech full time courses will be given stipend as per GOI norms.
4. The reservation (SC/ST/PH/etc.) will be as per GOI norms.
5. The admission to all M.Tech. Programmes will be on the basis of merit list givind 60% weight age to GATE score and 40% weight age to institute test.
6. Candidates appearing for Final Year Examination may also apply but they should submit their results at the time of admission.
7. Sponsored and non Gate Candidates ( if GATE candidates are not available) for M.Tech. will be selected only through Institute test.

Indian Institute of science education and research (IISER) established under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, houses state-of-art research facilities in all branches of science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology). IISER faculty are engaged in research in frontier and interdisciplinary areas of science.
Applications from Indian nationals are invited for research program scheduled to commence from August 2008 in the following areas of basic sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
Eligibility Criteria- First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Physics/ Biochemistry/ Material Science/ Life Sciences/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science or M.Stat or equivalent. Students with B.Tech or equivalent degree in Engineering Physics/Electrical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering / B.Pharma/ M.Pharma/ MBBS degree may also apply for research programs in Physics and Life Sciences.
Other Criteria: The applicants should have qualified through NET/GATE/JEST or equivalent examination and the selected students with valid score are eligible for fellowship from IISER Pune. Students with valid UGC-CSIR JRF are eligible for fellowship directly from UGC or CSIR. Candidates must attend the interview before selection for doctoral program, the dates of which would be informed to the short-listed candidates. Candidates who have appeared for qualifying degree examination are eligible to apply, and must submit the attested qualifying degree certificates / final transcripts before joining (Deadline: 30th September, 2008).
